About Me
Rebekka Lauer studied product design with a focus on interaction design at Weißensee Art Academy Berlin, Germany. Currently, she is a research associate at the Cluster of Excellence ‹An Interdisciplinary Laboratory. Image Knowledge Gestaltung› at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her research for the project ‹Image Guidance› traces the ways in which medical images are produced and used within the field of neurosurgery. This project includes field research at the Department of Neurosurgery at Charité University Hospital Berlin where Rebekka analyzes the needs of users who employ medical images and related software applications in various clinical settings and daily routines. Together with the team in Berlin and Houston, she is currently developing an interdisciplinary teaching concept for medical students at Charité, titled ‹iconic turn – how images determine our actions›.
