designing for how the brain works

2017BehaviorDesign“If I could just find the time, I know I could create…”
Today, our lives are crazy-busy, our distractions are through the roof, and yet we are supposed to change people’s behavior to be healthier?! Behavior change is the most elusive design challenge in all of healthcare because it requires doing deep, slow, and creative work. We need “escape velocity” from our everyday brain—with its boring old typical thoughts and go-to quick answers.
This daylong workshop set on 160 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains is your perfect getaway to design the behavior change you want! Behavior design expert, Dr Kyra Bobinet, will reveal the hidden patterns in the brain that drive predictive human behavior and how to design for each. You will use a series of “design sprints” to solve for the behavior change issues you care about most. Come prepared for a refreshing, nature-infused, creativity-boosting day…all the while painlessly solving your biggest behavioral challenges!

The Facility
The workshop is located at CHANGE, a neuroscience-design training center located 23 miles from Stanford in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The center is 160 acres of redwood forest, 360-degree ridgeline views, two year-round creeks, and trails. There is an indoor design workshop space, an upper outdoor deck, and A/V room. A private chef will serve farm-to-table food throughout the day with an after-party reception. Travel and carpool details are available with plenty of parking.
