Description

Amidst a fragmented, broken and over-expensed healthcare system, imaging represents a 'small' portion of unnecessary costs: ~$26 billion each year spent on redundant care.

Nephosity is a Rock Health company trying to fix this broken vertical and, in doing so, move closer towards a future of connected, collaborative, patient-centric care.

Jack Imaging is the first web-platform to make imaging records available at the point of care, and across transitions of care while allowing multi-specialty stakeholders to contribute to a patient case (including the most significant of these stakeholders, the patient herself).

This is significant for several reasons:
- on average, American patients see 18.7 different doctors during their lives (patients 65+ years see 28.4 individual doctors)
- when records are unavailable at the point of care, a doctor is more likely to order a repeat test
- when patients don't have access to records, they are less likely to be engaged in actively managing their care
- with the passage of the ACA, PCPs now have, on average, 2500 patients to manage and keep track of
- having the complete patient record available, including prior scans, reports from other doctors and even patient notes, help with clinical decision making
- access to accurate health data improves care

Jack Imaging ensures these imaging records are available as the patient transitions care settings - and we have integrated/are integrating with several EHR vendors to ensure imaging is a part of every electronic health record moving forward.

Jack Imaging is introduced as soon as a patient is ordered to be scanned. The imaging facility's archived integrates with Jack Imaging's cloud server, pulling the scans and delivering them to the referring physician - who creates a case for the patient. The PCP or admin uploads the scanned report, and shares the entire case with the patient - who logs in securely on the Jack Imaging web portal. The patient then has the option to view her scans, reports and contribute any notes or questions regarding her case. If and when the patient is referred to another provider - usually a specialist - the patient shares her case with that specialist, who can review any prior scans (reducing need for repeat imaging) as well as the PCP and radiologist report. The patient and PCP manage the case, allowing access to any member of the care team or a caretaker, allowing the entire patient-centric care team access to the entire case record.

Jack Imaging also connects patients with radiologists and specialists for: educational discussions, second reads, and second opinions.

More than 80% of patients would like access to their imaging records online, yet less than 20% of providers give access to their patients. Patient portals, while gaining in popularity, often do not include imaging results and, if they do, do not allow the patient to download or share the imaging files.

We are here to change this.
