Description

Spencer Coveys envisions a Quantified Self workshop to be primarily focused around three topics:

1. Using quantified self type devices to track your individual health markers. The types of outcomes that are most impacted through mindful measurement/tracking.

2. Emerging regulations by the FDA and other governing bodies on such devices.

3. A great discussion on the future of the quantified self market space. What the future of devices, their users, and their outcomes could be.

Participants will have the opportunity to work with all the devices that Ihealth, Fitbit, and Jawbone have produced along with many other specialty devices - cell enabled glucose meters, wireless blood pressure cuffs, etc.

Spencer Covey is a creative anthropologist at Abriiz by Ideomed. In that capacity he is responsible for applying human-centered design methodologies within the Abriiz solution. He is the organizer of two quantified self chapters in Michigan. Spencer tracks his mood as it relates to temperature and barometric pressure, activity, sleep, diet, water consumption, and has a keen interest in the evolving role consumer facing DNA reports such as 23&me will play into daily life. Spencer has been involved with multiple early stage healthcare initiatives spanning pharma, process improvement and software.
