Description

The history of technological innovation in healthcare has been one of inventing new things – software, devices, equipment – in the service of improving care and extending lives. But, increasingly, these capital-intensive investments are adding to the skyrocketing cost of care while detracting from the patient and provider experience. We’re at a tipping point where software must fade into the background and the focus of innovation must shift from the invention of new things to the invention of new ways to deliver quality care at lower cost. In this talk, Bush will discuss how the “network effect,” which we experience in other aspects of our lives, is beginning to take hold in healthcare, offering the promise of a smarter, cheaper and more connected patient experience.
