
About Me
Geri Lynn Baumblatt, M.A., is the Editorial Director at Emmi Solutions. Geri has worked in education since 1993 as an instructor at the University of Denver and the Rocky Mountain Talent Search. She quickly began working in online health content and interactive medical education at companies like DigitalMed.
For the past 12 years Geri has been working with a team of writers, medical animators, decision scientists, behavior change experts, patients, and clinicians to create a large library of multimedia patient engagement, shared decision making, and behavior change programs that connect with patients, reduce anxiety, and help patients and families understand and engage in their care. Emmi programs have won a number awards such as Freddie Awards, the IHA Health Literacy Award, the Frank Netter Award, ClearMark Plain Language Awards, and the 4th Annual Leonard G. Doak Health Literacy Innovator Award.
Geri is on the board of the Journal of Patient Experience, a contributor to the Association for Patient Experience, and hosts an annual Health Literacy Month blog series on Engaging the Patient. She regularly participates in health literacy and shared decision making conferences and panels for organizations like AHRQ, the Institute for Healthcare Advancement, the Society for Medical Decision Making, Health Literacy Missouri, the Health Sector Advisory Council and the Collaborative on Healthcare for Aging Populations and Advanced Illness at the Duke Fuqua School of Business, and the Center for Plain Language.
