Lisa Gualtieri, PhD, ScM, is an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine in the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine. She directs the certificate program in Digital Health Communication and teaches courses on Online Consumer Health, Social Media and Health, Mobile Health Design, and Digital Strategies for Health Communication. Dr Gualtieri’s research focuses on patient activism and on the use of social media for participant recruitment in clinical trials. In addition to her teaching and research, Dr. Gualtieri is an advisory committee member of the FDA. Dr. Gualtieri earned a PhD in computer sciencefrom Harvard University.
