As the director of communications for the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California, Liz Salmi is passionate about making sure all seriously-ill Californians have access to high-quality, patient-centered care.
After a cancer diagnosis in 2009, Liz became a vocal advocate for patient health. She now speaks regularly on patient engagement and digital media, is a contributor to the Healthcare Hashtag Project, and volunteers as a community organizer for Health 2.0 Sacramento—a local chapter of an international movement with a mission to cultivate and propel health technology. In 2013, Liz presented a TEDx Talk on how patients are using the Internet to form their own support network.
Liz serves on the medical advisory board for the National Brain Tumor Society, and is an ex-officio member and advisor to the adolescent and young adult cancer advisory board for the UC Davis Health System.
