Announcing the Stanford Medicine X Global Access Program
Medicine X is an academic conference designed for everyone. As part of that inclusive mission, we’ve created special programs designed to encourage ePatients, academic scholars and students to participate in the conference. Now I am proud to announce our Global Access Program, which will allow anyone who can’t join us at Stanford to attend virtually through a high-quality streaming webcast. And the price to view the webcast is one that anyone can afford: it’s free.
Our Global Access Program will include streaming video of the conference plenary proceedings, live photos, and other updates. The program is an unprecedented effort to bring Stanford Medicine X live to your desktop, phone, or tablet device.
Joining me in the effort will be Emmy-award winning television producer Bita Nikravesh Ryan and 2011 Stanford-NBC News Global Health Media Fellowship recipient and fourth-year Stanford medical student Joyce Ho. Our photography team includes Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Theo Rigby, speaker portrait photographers Christopher Kern and Nikki Duarte, and our special venues photographer Yuto Wantanabe.
To participate in the Global Access Program, simply create an account on the Stanford Medicine X online community and register for the 2012 Global Access Program. That will allow us to contact you with access details when the conference gets underway. More information is available over on the registration page.

What a great idea! Just today one of my blog readers contacted me to ask if any of the Med X sessions would be open to the public. This global access program is the next best thing!
Thanks so much for this inclusive act of generosity!
See you next week. . .
regards,
C.
