Medicine X | Changemakers for #MakingMoreHealth

Are you passionate about improving community health? Are you an aspiring young changemaker looking to connect with a network of like-minded peers passionate about social innovation and entrepreneurship? Join the movement for an ‘Everyone a Changemaker’ world by submitting your creative ideas to this year’s Making More Health program at #MedX!

30 selected students from universities in California will engage with Ashoka’s Youth Venture and Boehringer Ingelheim at Stanford MedX Summit on experiential workshops and challenges designed for enhancing changemaker skills, social entrepreneurship and ideas for community health innovation.

During the 2 day engagement, selected finalists will be paired in smaller teams to innovate and launch venture ideas at this year’s Medicine X Summit. Each team will pitch their creative solutions for their health ventures to a panel of health experts at Stanford MedX Summit, and get valuable feedback. The winning student team will receive $1,000 in seed funding, project mentorship and main stage time at this year’s MedX Summit. All selected finalists from this application will be a part of the global Ashoka Youth Venture network and connected to more changemaker opportunities.  See photos from last year’s MMH program at #MedX!

What is #MakingMoreHealth?

Imagine a world where every young person is empowered to contribute to “Making More Health” (MMH), whether in their careers, schools, families or communities.

Boehringer Ingelheim and Ashoka are collaborating to develop the next generation of leaders and innovators in health. The Making More Health program promotes youth-led health innovation where young people identify as changemakers and actualize their passions and ideas into real-world solutions founded on the skills–Empathy, Teamwork,  Leadership and Creative Problem-solving.

Eligible freshmen, sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply. DEADLINE for applications is Sunday, August 27th.

NOTE: FINALISTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATIONS. FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED. FINALISTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND ALL TWO DAYS [9AM-6PM], 16 AND 17 SEPTEMBER.
