Michael Chae

About Me

Michael Chae has pursued work that addresses health promotion, inequities and social justice over the last 20 years.

Most recently, Michael has served in a number of leadership roles with the American Diabetes Association and is currently the Managing Director of Strategic Partnerships in innovation after having managed the organization’s operations in Northern California and Hawaii. His prior work includes nearly a decade at the was the American Cancer Society, where he held roles spanning program management, patient engagement, business operations, innovation and was Vice President for the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley.

Other adventures in social change have taken Michael to a nonprofit organization focused on closing the digital divide and working in urban low income mental health programs. A consistent interest is in his work is underappreciated issues that limit people’s well being and potential.

When he’s not thinking about managing his time, Michael fits in family activities, informally testing bicycle tires and being fascinated with physics.

Michael is originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
