About Me
Michelle Litchman, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah College of Nursing, Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine, and Family Nurse Practitioner at the Utah Diabetes and Endocrinology Center. She received a predoctoral fellowship from the Noorda Family Foundation/University of Utah John A. Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence and the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence. Dr. Litchman is currently a Vice President’s Clinical and Translational Scholar at the University of Utah. Her program of research is focused on how individuals manage their diabetes in the context of technology and peer health support. The technology she examines includes social media, mobile apps, real-time continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pumps, and medical device hacking. She has used Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and online communities as sources for both data analysis and recruitment. Further, Dr. Litchman serves on the research committee for the American Association of Diabetes Educators and American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
