About Me
Diego Espinosa is the CEO of healthcoin, a blockchain-based diabetes prevention start-up that enables incentives, population health and drug research. The company aims to supply the data needed for all prevention stakeholders to align in support of a user’s efforts. Healthcoin came out of Mr. Espinosa’s knowledge of network behavior, an expertise that evolved over the course of his finance career. It also stemmed from his success at reversing his borderline diabetes. Mr. Espinosa was previously a Wall Street investor and executive. He was a #1 ranked securities analyst with Morgan Stanley & Co, and later became a Director of European Research at Alliance Bernstein. There, he recruited, trained and managed a team of analysts in sectors that included pharma, technology and insurance. As an investor, Mr. Espinosa was Portfolio Manager of a $10b Global Equity portfolio at Zurich Scudder Investments. He also called the 2008 Crisis as a hedge fund manager. As a finance professor, Mr. Espinosa has taught innovative courses on the financial system at the graduate level. He is a published author on the 2008 Crisis as a network dynamic, and he has developed a methodology for designing and influencing network behavior. Mr Espinosa was also has experience as a strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, and he has an MBA from The Wharton School and an MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins.
