About Me

Jessica Melore is an internationally known motivational speaker, public health advocate, and frequent patient spokesperson, who has addressed crowds spanning from 10 to 10,000 people. She has over thirteen years of professional experience as a leader in the non-profit/healthcare field. At age sixteen, Jessica suffered a sudden, massive heart attack and was not expected to live through the night. Her left leg was amputated due to complications with surgery, and she lived for nine months on an experimental heart pump while awaiting a life-saving heart transplant. A three-time cancer survivor, she overcame her first bout with non-Hodgkin lymphoma while studying at Princeton University and was named one of Glamour magazine’s Top 10 College Women of 2012. She graduated with high honors from Princeton University, receiving the Allen Macey Dulles Award for the graduating senior who best represents Princeton’s motto: “Princeton in the Nation’s Service and in the Service of All Nations.” She has been featured on Dateline, Good Morning America, ABC’s World News Tonight, MTV, and Telemundo, among many others. She has also written for and been featured in a variety of online and print publications, including Dr. Oz: The Good Life, Woman’s Day, Glamour, The New York Times, AOL Health, The Associated Press, Business Insider, Wall Street Journal, In Motion, and National Geographic Explorer for Kids.

Melore has been a national ambassador, media spokesperson, and speaker for organizations such as: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, American Cancer Society, Lymphoma Research Foundation, Stupid Cancer, I Had Cancer, and Challenged Athletes Foundation. She served on the National Advisory Council for Donate Life America and has been invited to participate in several United Nations-affiliated forums, including the Global Diversity Leadership Exchange. She is an original founding member and board member of Harboring Hearts, a non-profit dedicated to providing heart patients and their family with emotional and financial assistance during a time of need. Melore was also named the YWCA’s “Woman of Inspiration” of 2002, which “recognizes a woman who has overcome adversity in her life to make a profound impact on others.” For more information, visit www.jessicamelore.com and @jessicamelore.
