Shelly Bhowmik is a licensed and board-certified Preventive Medicine physician. Her passion is to create healthcare experiences, services, and products that enhance both quality of life and quality of care for patients. Shelly believes that optimizing quality of life – physically, psychologically, socially, emotionally – is essential for wellbeing. This inspired her to specialize in Preventive Medicine, a field that emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention. She enjoys motivating others to change their lifestyle habits and behaviors. She also works on behavior change through human-centered design, using empathy and creativity to improve the quality of care patients receive. Currently Shelly is a strategist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, applying human-centered design to advance healthcare innovation. She received her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Public Health from The Johns Hopkins University, Doctor of Medicine (MD) from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Master in Public Health (MPH) from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed her transitional year internship at Bassett Medical Center and residency in Preventive Medicine at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
